UNESCO Calls for Education Policies That Leave No Learner Behind
22 Sept 2026, 09:08 am

UNESCO’s policy discussions on the 2026 Global Education Monitoring Report examine global trends in enrolment, completion, and exclusion from education. The report warns that even when overall enrolment improves, poverty, regional inequality, gender, disability, migration status, and conflict can still prevent students from completing their education. Future policies should not focus only on average scores; they must also identify which learners are being left behind. Resource allocation, teacher support, digital access, and inclusive curricula will be essential to advancing educational equity.
