The OECD’s PISA 2025 results show that Macao ranked first worldwide in problem-solving using computational tools. Its students ranked third globally in science and mathematics literacy and fifth in reading literacy. These results suggest that students are not only mastering textbook knowledge but also applying it through digital tools, models, and complex situations. As artificial intelligence transforms learning and work, computational thinking, logical analysis, and digital judgement will become essential skills. Macao’s experience may offer useful lessons for other education systems.
