Hong Kong Students Excel in Digital Learning

12 Sept 2026, 10:12 am

Hong Kong scored 545 in the new PISA 2025 assessment of “Learning in the Digital World,” well above the international average of 500. Hong Kong students also performed above the international averages in mathematics, science, and mother-tongue reading literacy, scoring 522, 496, and 480 respectively. More than 40% of students achieved high proficiency in digital learning and were able to use computational logic, programming, and modelling to solve complex problems. The results show that digital competence involves more than operating devices; it also includes analysis, modelling, and problem-solving.
